Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

Job Purpose:
  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial operations, including account reconciliations, accounts payable/receivables, forecasting, budgeting, and customer billing.
  • They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure business transactions are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Work closely with team members to assist with payables and receivables.
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including the draft of the financial statements and related notes.
  • Research and analyze expense variances for company management.
  • Manage Accounts Payables & Receivables.
  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Creates budgets and forecasts financial outcomes.
  • Resolves financial discrepancies and maintains accurate records.
  • Ensures compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of financial information.
  • Supports financial planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks or Tally.
