Oracle Database Administrator Position Overview

This role involves working in a 5-day office environment, providing critical database administration services for our organization.

We seek an experienced Oracle DBA with expertise in high-availability solutions to join our team.

Situated in the heart of Mumbai, this position offers exciting opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic and innovative team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Installation & Configuration:
    • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (12c/19c) in various environments.
    • Configure RAC, ASM, and clustering for optimal performance.
    • Manage Oracle listener, network services, and connectivity.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimisation:
    • Monitor database health and availability using OEM and custom scripts.
    • Perform advanced SQL query tuning, indexing strategies, and optimizer statistics management.
    • Utilize AWR, ASH, ADDM reports for performance diagnostics and tuning.
    • Optimize schema design, partitioning strategies, and storage allocation.
  • Backup, Recovery & High Availability:
    • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN and Data Guard.
    • Configure standby databases for DR readiness.
    • Validate backup integrity and conduct regular DR drills.
    • Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO SLAs.
  • Data Security & Compliance:
    • Implement data encryption and access control policies.
    • Enforce security standards aligned with regulatory guidelines.
    • Manage database auditing, logging, and compliance reporting.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop shell scripts and PL/SQL scripts to automate recurring tasks.
    • Automate database cloning, user provisioning, backups, and monitoring tasks.
    • Support integration of database operations into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Serve as L3 escalation point for database-related issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis and document incident resolutions.
    • Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical issues.
  • Upgrades, Patching & Migration:
    • Plan and execute Oracle patching, PSU, CPU, and version upgrades.
    • Perform cross-platform database migrations.
    • Validate application compatibility post-upgrade.
Requirements and Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c database administration.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted Oracle DB solutions.
  • Knowledge of database security standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
