Intellectual Property Leader

We are seeking a seasoned Intellectual Property Leader to spearhead our IP efforts and drive strategic growth. This role will play a pivotal part in developing and managing our growing IP portfolio, ensuring the optimal and timely protection of intellectual property.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading high-performing teams and delivering results in a dynamic environment. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify products for development, devise effective product development strategies, and provide guidance on patentability and drafting patents.

The successful candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. They will also be fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the growing IP portfolio
  • Enforce IP processes to ensure optimal protection of intellectual property
  • Work closely with Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams
  • Identify products for development and devise product development strategies
  • Provide guidance on patentability and drafting patents
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications
  • Partner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice
  • Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD or Post-graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Desirable to have additional specialization in Intellectual Property
  • At least 13+ years of experience in a reputable Global Pharmaceutical company with team handling skills
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting, and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization
