Medical Billing Specialist

Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate and timely billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
• Ensure patient medical information is up-to-date and accurate
• Process bills and invoices, and document amounts due for medical procedures and services
• Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations
• Monitor and record late payments
• Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies
• Review patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information
• Investigate and appeal denied claims
• Assist patients with developing payment plans
• Maintain billing software by updating rate changes, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical biller or similar role
• Strong understanding of billing software and electronic medical records
• Excellent multitasking and time management skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional problem-solving and organizational abilities
