Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented individual to work on the development of custom WordPress engines, including themes, plugins, and internal tools. This will involve:

  • Designing and implementing advanced Gutenberg blocks using hooks, APIs, and custom theme logic.
  • Optimizing database queries and code execution to ensure high-performance applications.
  • Integrating with REST APIs and supporting complex integrations/microservices.
  • Collaborating with front-end developers to connect blocks/themes while owning the backend architecture.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Deep expertise in PHP and the WordPress ecosystem, including hooks, APIs, plugins, themes, and Gutenberg.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing queries for performance.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice integration patterns.
  • React experience, especially for Gutenberg block development.
  • Comfortable working in Docker/Podman environments (WP-CLI, container operations, Linux commands).
  • A performance-minded approach: profiling, measuring, and optimizing code execution.
  • Proficiency in MacOS or Linux development environments.
  • Good command of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6).
  • Experience working closely with designers and front-end developers.
  • Awareness of accessibility and Core Web Vitals best practices.
