Job Description:

This role involves designing and maintaining PCB CAD libraries, generating footprints, validating BOMs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain PCB CAD libraries including schematic symbols, footprints, and parametric data
  • Generate footprints for SMD, THT, connectors, and complex IC packages as per IPC-7351 standards
  • Validate BOMs, electrical attributes, package information, and component descriptions
  • Process new part requests using PLM systems and maintain library updates
  • Cross-check datasheets, schematics, and footprints to ensure accuracy in pin sequencing and package details
  • Maintain documentation, follow standard naming conventions, and ensure smooth library integration with ECAD/MCAD tools

Required Skills & Tools:

  • CAD Tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, OrCAD/Capture CIS
  • PLM Systems: Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter
  • Standards & Compliance: IPC-7351 for footprint creation and validation, RoHS and REACH compliance understanding
  • Library Management: Creation and maintenance of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models, BOM validation and part numbering systems, use of footprint calculators like LP Wizard and Footprint Expert
