Pastry Specialist

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for preparing a variety of pastry and dessert menu items according to provided recipes and photos. The Pastry Specialist will be assigned a station in the pastry galley and will be placed in charge of some pastry and dessert production.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will prepare various pastry and dessert menu items according to recipes and photos.
  • They will be responsible for setting up pastry displays on buffets as needed.
  • Assist with the transportation of food items from main stores to the pastry galley when assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize working areas and utensils following United States Public Health rules and regulations at all times.
  • Be aware of and/or acquire necessary knowledge to comply with the ship's standard operation, assist guests and crew members with inquiries, attend meetings, training activities, courses and other work-related activities as required.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred). They should also possess knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment. A high school education or basic education equivalency requirement is also necessary.
