Financial Controller

Indevia Accounting Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and development of comprehensive controls and budgets. The Financial Controller will also guide the company's document library in compliance with US and Indian law.
The position will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, hands-on, passionate, result-driven, and highly consultative in nature. The individual will report to the CEO and work closely with all Senior Stakeholders to drive projects and establish strategic plans across Indevia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead controllership operations, including reporting, taxation, treasury compliance, risk management, and audit forecasting.
2. Streamline processes and the Finance Department to ensure efficiency and productivity.
3. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
4. Manage outsourced functions, such as Chartered Secretary services, to ensure legal compliance and accurate tax returns.
5. Manage and comply with local, state, and government reporting requirements, document retention policy, and tax filings.
6. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
7. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of clients in coordination with Sales and Operations.
8. Conduct periodic reviews with department/function heads and drive corrective action where required to ensure profitability.
9. Analyze the profitability of various segments of the company's business and advise the management team on how to improve profitability.
10. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Requirements:
1. Master's or Bachelor's degree in Commerce with 10 years of experience or in a related field.
2. Candidates who have completed the qualifications to be a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may apply.
3. Leader with a service mindset who takes pride in growing the people they lead.
4. Deep understanding of how to use accounting to create value for the client.
5. Passion for using the best tools available to transform the business.
6. Experience with process management techniques like Six Sigma TQM is highly desirable.
7. Entrepreneurial spirit who is excited by the prospect of rapid growth.
8. Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals to higher levels of performance.
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Able to interact with US clients and prospects via phone, email, and in person.
10. Keep up to date with industry standards and technology changes to help build robust systems and provide ideas for integration.
