Job Description

We are seeking an experienced data scientist to join our team and play a key role in developing innovative data-driven products and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data mining, machine learning, and software development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and architecting future-state solutions, designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical product data models, and assisting in process and performance optimization for data access. Additionally, they will assist in database tuning and optimisation, help guide and mentor less experienced software developers, and support and resolve base product defects and incidents client testing and production environments.

The technical stack includes AWS, SQL, Python, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Linux/Ubuntu.

Professional data product development experience is essential for this role, including design, development, documentation, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle. Strong expertise in data modelling and tuning SQL query performance, as well as experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and efficient data design and access (ORM, JDBC, DAO, SQL), is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Extensive professional data product development experience
  • Experience in designing and implementing data products
  • Experience creating secure data solutions including avoidance and mitigation patterns for relevant current and previous OWASP top-10
  • Demonstrable experience in data modelling and tuning SQL query performance
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and efficient data design and access (ORM, JDBC, DAO, SQL)
