Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Data Cloud administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our Snowflake environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Snowflake administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the data platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Snowflake accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
  • Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads for efficient execution.
  • Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines in Snowflake.
  • Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Apply patches, monitor Snowflake updates, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Support integrations with ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, Resource Monitors, Tasks, Streams.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data security & governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
