Senior Unified Communications Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our UC team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced communication systems that integrate voice, video, and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unified Communications Architecture & Design: You will possess a deep understanding of Unified Communications Products like CUCM, CUC, IM & Presence, and Expressways. Your expertise in designing and troubleshooting clusters, inter-cluster trunks, and high availability configurations will ensure seamless communication services.
  • PSTN Trunking & Interoperability: With your experience in designing and troubleshooting SIP trunks, PRIs with carriers, including codec negotiation, SIP headers, PRIs, and call routing logic, you will ensure interoperability between different systems.
  • CUBE & Voice Gateway Configurations: Your advanced knowledge of IOS gateway setup (MGCP, H.323, SIP), dial peers, DSP resources, and survivability strategies will enable the creation of robust and reliable voice gateways.
  • Analog Devices: Understanding of Analog Devices such as Analog Gateways, Analog Phones, Fax Devices, DTMF & Dial-tone behavior, FXS/FXO Ports is crucial for ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  • Call Flow Engineering: Your expertise in end-to-end call flow design across multiple platforms (CUCM, Unity, UCCX/UCCE, Expressway) will optimize communication services and improve user experience.
  • Virtualization & Cloud Migration: Deploying IPT solutions on UCS platforms or migrating to cloud-based collaboration (Webex Calling, Cisco HCS) requires your skills in virtualization and cloud migration.

Strategic & Operational Skills:
  • Capacity Planning & Scalability: Forecasting growth, designing scalable dial plans, and managing bandwidth across WAN links will ensure our communication services can scale with our business needs.
  • Disaster Recovery & Redundancy: Architecting failover strategies, backup systems, and DR testing protocols will guarantee minimal disruption in case of system failures.
  • Integration Expertise: Connecting IPT with third-party systems (CRM, ERP, SIP endpoints, SBCs) will enhance the overall communication experience and provide seamless integration with other business systems.
  • Change Control & Governance: Leading change advisory boards, documenting impact assessments, and enforcing configuration standards will ensure that changes to our communication systems are well-planned and implemented.
