Our organization is seeking a highly experienced Optics Expert to fill this position.

About the Job:
  • This role involves designing and aligning an electron-optical column for high-resolution performance.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for translating optics theory into calibration routines, tolerances, and alignment jigs that can be replicated outside the lab environment.
  • We are looking for someone who can collaborate with Electronics engineers to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software developers to create intuitive imaging controls.
  • This individual will also build and maintain a calibration playbook, including resolution, magnification, and distortion, and train others to use it effectively.

This position requires a deep understanding of electron optics, including hands-on experience with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology. The ideal candidate should be comfortable moving between theoretical modeling, bench work, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop calibration procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Physics or related field.
  • Proven experience in electron optics and vacuum systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
