Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead our Cell R&D organization and contribute to the success of our pioneering project in the lithium-ion battery industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NMC cell design and development, with expertise in cathode material & electrode design, silicon-graphite anode material & electrode design, and 46xx cell development.

Responsibilities include designing and developing NMC battery cells with high safety and reliability for various form factors, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cell design parameters, and driving the development of new cell technologies.

A bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical or Electrochemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required, along with at least 7 years of industrial experience in lithium-ion battery cell design and development.

Proven leadership skills, excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop NMC battery cells with high safety and reliability for various form factors, including Cylindrical (21700, 46xx, 32140) and pouch cells.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cell design parameters and ensure robust manufacturing tolerance.
  • Drive the development of new cell technologies, such as high-energy, high-power, long-life, and fast-charge cells.
  • Lead a team of scientists and engineers to achieve strategic goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical or Electrochemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of industrial experience in lithium-ion battery cell design and development, material development, and prismatic/pouch form factor batteries.
  • Strong expertise in NMC chemistry-based battery cell design, cathode material & electrode design, silicon-graphite anode material & electrode design, and 46xx cell development.
  • Proven leadership skills, with at least 2 years of experience managing and leading technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
