Job Title: Market Risk Manager

At the heart of every successful organization lies a well-managed risk profile. As a seasoned Market Risk Manager, you will be responsible for spearheading this effort in our esteemed organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement robust policies and guidelines to monitor Treasury/ Investment/ ALM/ Liquidity risk effectively.
  • Develop and maintain accurate valuations of Treasury portfolios across various asset classes, including Forex, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equity, and others.
  • Provide independent monitoring support for mid-office activities, encompassing NOP, Fixed Income, FIG, Derivatives, limit monitoring, and other critical areas.
  • Monitor hedge effectiveness on a regular basis to ensure optimal risk management strategies.
  • Implement and calculate Capital charge and Counterparty Risk Charge with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct technical analysis of Equities, Bonds, and Money market funds to inform investment decisions.
  • Ensure seamless limit monitoring for all treasury activities, adhering to both internal and regulatory policies.
  • Reconcile MTM (Mark-to-Market) values with counterparty banks for derivatives deals and manage margin calls as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate daily and periodical reports to stakeholders, including Board notes.
  • Enhance methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures like PFE (Potential Future Exposure) and CVA (Credit Value Adjustment).
  • Periodically review new banking products related to Market risk and develop effective risk mitigation controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in Middle East banks, with a strong background in Market Risk Management.
  • Proven expertise in establishing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of financial markets, instruments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ALM (Asset Liability Management) systems and stress testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process), RAROC (Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital), FTP (Financial Transmission Prices) methodologies, and RAS (Risk Appetite Statement) is preferable.
  • Ability to handle complex audit queries and provide active assistance during audit processes.
