Job Title: HVAC Design Specialist

Job Description:

This role involves designing and optimizing HVAC systems for energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Key responsibilities include performing load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
  • Perform heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.
  • Select and size HVAC equipment based on project requirements.
  • Design ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of MEP coordination, energy efficiency, and HVAC system optimization. Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20).
  • Strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards.
