MEP Project Manager Role

The ideal candidate for this MEP Project Manager position will oversee the planning, design, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in commercial projects. This includes collaborating with architects and structural engineers to ensure that MEP designs align with project goals.

To achieve success in this role, a strong analytical mind is necessary to address technical challenges. Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software is also required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for managing cross-functional teams.

The SME will be responsible for reviewing and approving MEP designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with local regulations, NBC (National Building Code), IGBC/LEED guidelines, and BIS standards. Additionally, they will need to provide inputs for innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable MEP solutions in line with market trends and future-ready technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement effective project plans.
  • Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise to address technical challenges and ensure timely project delivery.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree or certifications in MEP systems would be an advantage.

Experience:

A minimum of 14-18 years of experience in MEP design and execution, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.

Certifications:

Green building certifications (e.g., IGBC AP, LEED AP) and PMP certification are desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in MEP systems design, implementation, and commissioning.
  • In-depth knowledge of local building codes, environmental laws, and energy-efficient systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams.
