Key Roles and Responsibilities

As the Head of Ecommerce, you will have full profit and loss responsibility for the geography. You will set ambitious revenue, margin, and customer acquisition cost targets to drive growth.

To achieve this, you will craft a comprehensive growth strategy across direct-to-consumer (D2C), marketplaces, offline, and emerging channels. This includes forecasting demand and managing end-to-end inventory to minimize stock-outs and control ageing stock.

You will define product-market fit by localizing hero SKUs, creating new-product roadmaps, and sunsetting low-return-on-investment (ROI) lines. Additionally, you will collaborate with research and development teams to adapt formulations for regional regulations and sensorial preferences.

Marketing Strategy

Your responsibilities will also include orchestrating 360-degree marketing campaigns to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS). You will establish data pipelines and dashboards to track cohorts, repeat rates, and marketplace rankings in real-time.

Logistics and Partnerships

Furthermore, you will negotiate with third-party logistics providers, payment partners, and duty consultants to optimize landed costs and service level agreements. You will recruit, mentor, and performance-manage cross-functional teams, champion customer obsession, and mine voice-of-customer insights to feed product updates and customer experience enhancements.

Strategic Partnerships

In addition, you will drive strategic partnerships with wellness chains, tourism boards, and Ayurveda clinics to amplify reach. You will ensure legal and tax compliance, present quarterly business reviews to global leadership, and deploy a test-and-learn culture.

Business Continuity

Finally, you will set up disaster-recovery and continuity plans for supply, logistics, ads, and key seller accounts, benchmark competition, and deliver actionable intelligence on pricing, share-of-voice, and shelf velocity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail, preferably in the FMCG or e-commerce industry, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will possess strong analytical, data, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use information for reporting. Self-accountability, attention to detail, and time management skills are essential.
