Senior Storage Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Architect to lead our large-scale Ceph deployments and contribute upstream. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing scalable Ceph solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of storage engineers to design and implement high-performance, highly available Ceph infrastructures.
  • Plan complex multi-datacenter Ceph deployments with strict service level agreements (SLAs) and performance requirements.
  • Oversee the installation, tuning, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Ceph clusters across various environments.
  • Benchmark and optimize Ceph storage to meet growing workload demands.
  • Develop custom tools and automate tasks using Python to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Actively contribute to the Ceph open-source community code, bug fixes, enhancements, and documentation.
  • Design resilient backup and disaster recovery strategies and ensure compliance with security best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Ceph into larger infrastructure stacks.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale Ceph deployments.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ceph architecture, deployment, and management.
  • Expertise in Python scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and containerization.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Nagios.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
