Job Description

This role is part of a collaborative team that supports the delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a senior or project engineer to carry out key functions:

  1. Prepare feasibility study reports in agreed formats and review with the Local CRC Head of Structures
  2. Work with the WSP SG Team to assemble design specifications compliant with employer requirements, agree format and content, and monitor preparation ensuring timely delivery
  3. Agree and monitor scope of works with the Local iCRC Head of Structures
  4. Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local iCRC Head of Structures and WSP SG Team for detailed design
  5. Carry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard, including complex calculations and coordination issues, ensuring QA and technical review and sign off by the Local iCRC Head of Structures
  6. Review and monitor production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews, and ensure completion in requisite detail and to deadlines
  7. Ensure accurate information for project costing preparation and keep the WSP SG Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions
  8. Provide documentary information via the WSP SG Team to assist in tender document preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  9. Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and review input from team members
  10. Deal with day-to-day queries from the WSP SG Team, ensuring relevant information is available on time for construction activity
  11. Report any variance between constructed works and design intent to the WSP SG Team in association with the Local iCRC Head of Structures
  12. Project manage commissions from the WSP SG Team, utilizing applicable project management tools
  13. Lead the design process and encourage team members to deliver cost-effective solutions within the agreed program
  14. Follow document control, archiving CDM and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately
  15. Coach junior staff in the usage of relevant processes
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Mandatory skills: Proven experience in Building Structure design, significant experience in a similar role, good presentation skills, proficiency in technical structural software, Microsoft Office, and excellent English language skills
  • Desired skills: Good management, communication, and technical skills, capable of working independently and within the team as dictated by workload
Benefits
