Software Deployment Specialist

About the Role

This position is focused on ensuring applications are properly packaged and deployed to customer environments.

  • Create and maintain software packages using various tools.
  • Test and document applications to ensure smooth deployment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, particularly in application packaging and Windows operating systems.

The job involves working with various stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve any issues that may arise during the deployment process.

Responsibilities
  • Packaging: Create, test and deliver software packages using a variety of tools, such as InstallShield and RayPack.
  • Deployment: Deploy packaged applications to customer environments, ensuring they meet agreed SLA limits.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve incidents and requests related to packages within agreed SLAs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for all software packages and deployments.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess at least 4 years of experience in preparing applications for deployment on Windows Operating Systems, employing available setup commands/scripting as well as repackaging and customizing setup applications.

Required Skills
  • Multisite Windows environment management.
  • Awareness of MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) or SCCM.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell Scripting, VB scripting for automating application installations.
  • Understanding of package/app installation processes.
  • Business savvy, flexibility when emergencies occur.
  • Experienced in ITIL-based operations environment.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Intune product family.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting multiple customer environments simultaneously.
  • Citrix environment preparation.
  • Microsoft certifications MD-100, MD-101 or MD-102.
  • International experience.
