Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team.

This key member will design, develop, and maintain the core components of our internal developer platform, ensuring seamless integration with cloud infrastructure.

• Platform Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs, tools, and infrastructure for our internal developer platform, utilizing cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • Buil self-service capabilities that enable developers to provision infrastructure, deploy applications, and manage their environments independently.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, ensuring scalability and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain golden paths for common development tasks, ensuring consistency and best practices throughout the platform.
  • Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our cloud infrastructure, aligning with industry standards.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools into the platform, enhancing its functionality and performance.
• Developer Enablement:
  • Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and pain points, providing timely support and guidance.
  • Provide training and support to developers on how to use the platform effectively, ensuring they can efficiently utilize its features.
  • Gather feedback from developers and iterate on the platform based on their needs, driving continuous improvement.
  • Document platform features and best practices, maintaining a knowledge base for future reference.
  • Champion a developer-centric approach to platform development, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Automation and Efficiency:
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and other repetitive tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing productivity.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process, enabling faster time-to-market.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the development workflow, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of the platform, providing real-time insights.
• Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure that the platform is secure and compliant with relevant regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and protecting against threats.
  • Implement security best practices throughout the platform, maintaining a robust security posture.
  • Work with security teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, ensuring the platform remains secure.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, promoting open communication and mutual understanding.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing, driving continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  Desirable Experience:
  • Experience building and maintaining internal developer platforms.
  • Experience with API design and development.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Experience with security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
