About Citrix Architect Role:

Citrix Architects design and implement virtual desktop solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure scalable, secure architectures. They are responsible for designing end-to-end virtual desktop solutions, integrating Citrix products, and configuring Azure virtual machines.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design

Design scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures by analyzing business requirements, assessing existing infrastructure, and ensuring a smooth deployment and operation.

Citrix Integration

Design and integrate Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, and Citrix Cloud with Azure virtual desktop services to provide a comprehensive and cohesive virtual desktop solution.

Azure Virtual Desktop Configuration

Configure and manage Azure virtual machines, session hosts, virtual networks, and storage to create and maintain Azure virtual desktop environments, ensuring proper image management, user profile management, and application delivery mechanisms.

Identity and Access Management

Design and implement identity and access management strategies, including integration with Azure Active Directory, multifactor authentication, and role-based access controls for virtual desktop environments.

Network Infrastructure

Design and configure network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure, including network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers to ensure secure and efficient data transfer.

Performance Optimization

Optimize virtual desktop environments for performance, scalability, and user experience by monitoring and tuning resource allocation, load balancing, and network bandwidth.

Security and Compliance

Implement security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements to protect virtual desktop environments and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery

Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss by creating redundancy mechanisms, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Set up monitoring tools and processes to proactively monitor the virtual desktop infrastructure, identify and troubleshoot performance issues, system errors, and network connectivity problems.

Documentation and Collaboration

Create design documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures to ensure successful deployment and ongoing management of virtual desktop solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in IT, preferably with Citrix technologies.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of virtualization, networking, and security principles, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications: Citrix Certified Associate (CCA) or higher is desirable.
