Database Engineer Position

Our organization seeks an experienced Database Engineer to join its team. As a critical member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and managing scalable database configurations, automating patch deployments and installations, and optimizing data storage and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Manage Database Configurations: Design and manage scalable Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ configurations to meet the needs of our applications.
  • Automate Patch Deployments: Automate patch deployments, installations, and BAU tasks using shell scripting or other programming languages.
  • Optimize Data Storage and Retrieval: Optimize data storage, retrieval, indexing, query performance, and infrastructure to ensure high efficiency.
  • Ensure Data Integrity and Security: Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or Related Field: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field is required.
  • Experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ: 2-12 years of experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ architecture, configuration, and performance tuning is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL: Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL, index defragmentation, re-indexing, query optimization, and client/server connectivity is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sybase Certification: Sybase certification or equivalent is preferred.
