Admissions Support Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the recruitment function and ensuring the growth of Algonquin College's presence in South Asia by converting leads and applicants to registered students. The role involves providing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, advising students and their families on study options, and experience with application processing for higher education institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to communicate effectively in English, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Experience with Customer Relation Management (CRM) software and online engagement portals is an asset. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and flexibility, commitment, and drive are required.
- Key responsibilities include applicant counselling and admissions assessment activities:
- Reviewing applications and documents submitted by students or agents and requesting additional information and documentation as required.
- Utilizing Algonquin College's CRM system to manage leads and applications.
- Screening students for appropriate academic abilities and goals for eligibility to study at Algonquin College.
- Responding to inquiries via email, video conferencing/meeting, and social media platforms from students and/or agents.
- Applicants Guidance and Support:
- Providing counselling and admission guidance to ensure that students apply to programs commensurate with their academic potential and career goals.
- Collecting and entering accurate inquiry details in Algonquin College's CRM system.
- Following up with students met at recruitment events as per an agreed-upon schedule to increase application conversion.

Graduates or post-graduates in any discipline, preferably with a degree in Business or Marketing, are eligible for this position. Familiarity with the Canadian education system would be desirable but not essential. Experience with applicants' counselling and processing is a must. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are necessary for this role.

- Ability to work in a time-bound target-oriented environment and under pressure.
- Pleasing telephone manners to assist in tele-calling.
- Exhibit strong skills of a team player.
- Experience with Customer Relation Management (CRM) software and online engagement portal will be considered an asset.
- Conversant with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Flexible, committed, and driven.
- Good level of self-efficacy as relates to problem-solving and client service delivery.
