Release Program Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Release Program Manager to join our team at Autodesk. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing the release management process across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage application and infrastructure releases in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Collaborate with engineering, build, and QA teams to plan releases according to defined milestones
  • Work with engineering to avoid impacts of branches and code merges
  • Engage with engineering and business to prioritize enhancements and defects into releases
  • Analyze release blockers, downstream impact, manage dependencies, mitigate risk, conduct release walkthroughs, and communicate release status
  • Create and manage change tickets, implementation plans, rollback plans, and artifacts for releases
  • Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities and ensure the deployment plan is executed seamlessly
  • Ensure all production deployments comply with IT security policies, engineering guidelines, and standards
  • Hold defect triage meetings and determine future avoidance
  • Implement continuous process improvements by automating manual work and eliminating inefficiencies in the process
  • Create and manage metrics and dashboards to facilitate a data-driven approach
  • Maintain a knowledge repository on build and release procedures and key information related to releases

Requirements

  • 6+ years of working and supporting in an enterprise software organization
  • 6+ years of managing enterprise release programs
  • Solid understanding of project and program management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
  • Knowledge of advanced release strategy concepts (CI/CD deployments, auto-tagging, versioning strategy, automation)
  • Technical understanding of development tools, source control, artifact management, and continuous integration build systems (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Python)
  • A strong knowledge of change management process and SOX/SOC guidelines
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
  • Knowledge of change governance and ITIL framework
  • Experience working with project management tools like MS Project and Smartsheet
  • Experience documenting and improving processes around release management best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences
  • Works well under pressure and is able to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
  • Is self-driven, a great team player, responsive, accountable, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment
