Enabling Frictionless Payments Solutions

This role is part of a dynamic start-up environment within Amazon, focusing on enabling 'Amazon Pay' outside of Amazon.

The India External Payments team seeks passionate software developers who can deliver high-quality platform solutions to support various customer and merchant use cases for enabling 'Amazon Pay' for third-party merchants.

You will help third-party merchants enable customers to pay with 'Amazon Pay Balance' on their websites or stores. Your responsibility will be to build a best-in-class and frictionless payments solution and merchant experience that helps scale exponentially while retaining customer and merchant trust.

To succeed in this role, you need a strong understanding of computer fundamentals and practical experience in building large-scale distributed systems. Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications is also beneficial.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Ability to take raw requirements and convert them into good design while exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
  • Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
  • Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
  • Excellence in technical communication
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in object-oriented design and coding skills (Java and/or C/C++ preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
  • Expertise in Android or iOS internals
  • Experience with Android backend development and exposure to AndroidAccountManager, Broadcasts, and Performance etc.
  • Experience in mobile SDK development
  • Web services and web application/services development experience
  • Experience developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment
