Job Title: Special Educator
We are looking for a skilled educator who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other school staff.
- Deliver customized instruction to students based on their individual needs and learning styles.
- Modify the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.
- Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and use positive behavior supports.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
- Assess and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.
- Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and communications.
Skill and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or P.G. Diploma or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.
- 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
- Patient, empathetic, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices.
- Able to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Bilingual medium of instruction requires candidates to be proficient in English and Tamil.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies.
