Educational initiatives seek a Program Officer to lead our Primary Foundational Learning strategy in India. This role will shape our strategy, identify top leverage opportunities, and support an existing grant portfolio of approximately 5 organizations.

The Program Officer will work with colleagues on various thematic focus areas, staying current in research, country dynamics, and systems change. They'll represent funding recommendations to stakeholders, act as a global resource on best practices, and help grantees expand their impact through connections, visibility, and broader support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing an India-specific Primary Foundational Learning strategy, building towards systemic change.
  • Administering and supporting an existing portfolio of approximately 5 grants, ensuring effective program delivery.
  • Identifying highest leverage opportunities for advancing our goals.
  • Expanding the grant portfolio by identifying new grantees aligned with our strategy.
  • Representing funding recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements include at least 12 years of professional experience, knowledge of Primary Foundational Learning, and expertise in gender equity in education. The ideal candidate has strong networks in India, philanthropy, and education, with experience in nongovernmental, governmental, and/or philanthropic sectors.
