About Sterling, a leader in dealmaking solutions, is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join its dynamic team. As a Senior Cloud Engineer(AWS) role, this position plays a critical part in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Job Summary

This full-time position is based in Chennai, India, and requires 8-10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5-6 years hands-on experience with AWS. Working hours will be India/UK shifts (10 AM to 7:30 PM IST / 1 PM to 10:30 PM IST).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure that meets security, scalability, and high availability requirements.
  • Build and maintain AWS-based solutions to support distributed microservices architecture.
  • Implement observability tools and services to monitor applications and cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze application, performance, event, and system logs for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Collaborate with application teams to build, maintain, and document development, testing, staging, and production environments using Confluence.
Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should possess expertise in the following areas:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Terraform script design and implementation.
  • AWS administration, covering networking, security, compute, containers, databases, load balancing, and cloud-native services.
  • Security services, such as WAF, Network Firewall, Inspector, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
  • Observability services, including Prometheus, OpenSearch, and Grafana.
  • Microservices architecture.
  • Disaster recovery and high-availability strategies.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong spoken and written English abilities.
  • Ability to communicate and express ideas, issues, and suggestions effectively.
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work outside regular working hours to address critical production issues.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to document solutions.
