Aluminum Casting Expert Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aluminum Casting Expert to join our team. As an Aluminum Casting Expert, you will play a critical role in leading the end-to-end process for aluminum casting used in Medium Voltage GIS systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Aluminum Casting Process: You will oversee the entire process, from design and material selection to production and final inspection at the supplier base.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D Teams: Work closely with engineering and R&D teams to develop casting designs that meet the technical requirements of GIS applications.
  • Identify Opportunities for Process Improvements: Identify areas for improvement in mold design, material usage, casting techniques, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Implement Quality Control Measures: Implement stringent quality control measures throughout the casting process and conduct regular inspections and testing.
  • Analyze and Resolve Casting Defects: Analyze and resolve casting defects or failures that occur during production using advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain, to ensure alignment between casting processes and the overall production workflow.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in the aluminum casting or foundry industry, preferably in the electrical or power sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys, casting methods (sand casting, die casting, investment casting), mold design, and quality control processes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in casting applications for Medium Voltage or High Voltage GIS or similar electrical infrastructure components is an advantage.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's or doctoral degree is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams and manage projects in a cross-functional environment.

  • Advanced Casting Technologies: Experience with advanced casting technologies, such as mold production and rapid prototyping.
  • CAD Software: Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX) for mold design and process simulation.
  • Environmental Considerations: Understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations in the foundry industry.
