Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL database systems engineer with expertise in designing, optimizing, and managing complex database systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including replication, clustering, and query performance tuning.

Main Responsibilities:
- Design and manage PostgreSQL clusters for large-scale data workloads
- Implement partitioning and indexing strategies for efficient data retrieval
- Configure and manage WAL buffers, checkpoint settings, and WAL retention for durability and recovery
- Develop and optimize complex queries and work with time-series databases
- Conduct query analysis and performance optimization using real-world metrics
- Manage database scaling without relying on enterprise versions

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including WAL, replication, clustering, and query performance tuning
- Proficiency in Docker and containerized database environments
- Experience with time-series databases (e.g., TimescaleDB or native Postgres)
- Deep understanding of query performance techniques and cloud-native DB services
- Familiarity with backup/restore strategies and high availability configurations
