Estimator for High Voltage Transmission and Substation Projects

Job Description:

As an experienced Estimator, you will play a crucial role in developing accurate cost estimates for high voltage transmission and substation projects. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to assess project scope and determine resource requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate cost estimates for high voltage transmission and substation projects
  • Conduct thorough material takeoffs from engineered plans and sections
  • Analyze project specifications and blueprints to assess project scope and determine resource requirements
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather essential information and ensure comprehensive estimations
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Evaluate potential risks associated with projects and provide mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in electrical or civil engineering, preferably with a degree in one of these fields. The ideal candidate should have at least 5-15 years of experience in estimating high voltage transmission and substation projects. Additionally, they should possess strong capabilities in estimation, a deep understanding of electrical construction practices, codes, and regulations related to transmission, distribution, and substation projects, as well as intermediate-level knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup.
