Design Engineer for Roof Rail Systems

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of roof rail systems for various vehicle programs. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative designs from concept to reality.

About the Role:

  • Design and develop roof rail systems that meet structural strength, safety, styling, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Evaluate feasibility of design concepts and ensure they are aligned with our business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain packaging awareness and interface with adjacent systems.
  • Prepare and review 3D/2D design documentation in CATIA V5.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Designing and developing roof rail systems for hatchback, SUV, and passenger vehicle programs.
  2. Evaluating the feasibility of design concepts and ensuring they meet our business requirements.
  3. Collaborating with our engineering teams to optimize designs for cost and durability.
  4. Ensuring manufacturability and applying learnings from prior vehicle program experiences.
Requirements:
  • 4-8 years of experience in roof rail design for passenger vehicles.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5.
  • Strong understanding of structural strength, safety, styling, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
