Job Description

We are seeking a Freelance Data Scientist to leverage analytical expertise and domain knowledge to uncover insights, build predictive models, and support data-driven decision-making in the healthcare space.

  • Extract, clean, and analyze large-scale claims and provider datasets.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL scripts for data extraction and transformation.
  • Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques (Python – Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) to generate actionable insights.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to communicate findings.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in healthcare data to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in SQL, Python, and healthcare claims/provider data.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including data manipulation, aggregation, and performance tuning.
  • Strong Python skills, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards, including HIPAA, ICD, CPT, and NPI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience working with healthcare claims and provider data.
