Job Overview

The Head of Legal Compliance is a pivotal role that oversees all legal matters, providing strategic guidance and support to the organization. This position plays a key part in driving business growth while mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level legal advice to senior management on complex matters
  • Evaluate and mitigate legal risks associated with business decisions
  • Advising on intricate legal and regulatory issues related to lending, financing, and investment
  • Supporting business teams in structuring trade transactions
  • Advising on securitization structures and documentation
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and contracts
  • Ensuring standardization of legal documents and templates for products
Regulatory & Compliance Requirements:
  • Assist in ensuring adherence to RBI regulations, NBFC-specific compliance requirements, and corporate governance standards
  • Support periodic regulatory filings and responses to notices from regulatory authorities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
  • Coordinate with external counsels for litigation management
  • Support in preparation of case summaries, responses, affidavits, and other litigation-related documents
  • Track ongoing litigation and assist in case management reporting
Qualifications and Skills:
  • LLB or LLM from a reputable university; Company Secretary (CS) qualification is a plus
  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience with a strong background in NBFCs, banking, or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of NBFC regulations, RBI guidelines, corporate laws, and financial legal frameworks
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
