STEM Educator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one of these subjects and a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in capacity-building programs in Teacher Education.

• Teaching and Learning: Develop and deliver high-quality workshops and courses for teachers in Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry using progressive pedagogical and adult learning methodologies.
• Capacity Building Program Planning: Prepare detailed program frameworks, teaching plans, and workshop modules based on background studies of relevant national and international reference material.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other subject teams for planning and executing Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry programs.
• Analysis: Analyse feedback on training programs and incorporate it into subsequent trainings.
• Direction: Provide direction for Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry programs in alignment with current educational policies and guidelines.

Content Development

• Program Frameworks: Develop detailed program frameworks, teaching plans, and workshop modules based on background studies of relevant national and international reference material.
• Resource Material: Strengthen the Resource Centre and develop subject-specific resource material.
• Update Resources: Regularly update resources based on action research, primary or secondary research, or academic reading and writing.

Research and Development

• Specialized Content: Develop research-based specialized content and instructions to achieve workshop goals and objectives.
• Training Needs Assessments: Conduct training need assessments, baseline and end-line assessments to check the effectiveness of programs.
• Research Projects: Conceptualise, design, and conduct research/s on regular basis to explore latest methodologies, resources, and approaches in education and expertise areas.

School Visits and Direct Intervention in Schools

• Classroom Observations: Observe classroom sessions at various schools to understand the impact of programs.
• On-Site Support: Plan and provide on-site support to selected teachers in schools.
• Teacher Engagement: Engage with a cohort of teachers to understand factors required for effective change in teaching practices.

Documentation and Reporting

• Progress Reports: Document and report progress on allocated tasks.
• Training Reports: Prepare and submit training reports, classroom observation reports, events, and other reports.
