Database Administrator Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator with 7-10 years of experience, preferably in the insuretech or insurance domain.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain robust PostgreSQL clusters in production and staging environments.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor Patroni-based PostgreSQL clusters to ensure automatic failover and minimal downtime.
  • Implement and optimize TimescaleDB for handling large-scale time-series data and analytics.
  • Monitor database health, analyze performance, tune queries, and optimize indexes to ensure peak performance.
  • Develop and automate backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes that meet compliance and business requirements.
  • Integrate, configure, and manage observability solutions using OpenTelemetry (preferred), or Prometheus, Grafana, or SigNoz to ensure proactive monitoring and alerting of database health and performance.
  • Work closely with DevOps, engineering, and data teams to support application development, deployment, and incident response.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Document architecture, processes, and best practices; mentor junior team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, with a track record of supporting production environments.
  • Advanced expertise with PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth experience with TimescaleDB extension for time-series data.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and managing Patroni for high availability.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database schema design.
  • Proficiency in observability and alerting tools: OpenTelemetry (preferred), Prometheus, Grafana, or SigNoz.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
