Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Indirect Tax Litigation team in Delhi. The successful candidate will have a strong academic track record, excellent communication and drafting skills, and the ability to work independently on complex tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle tax matters related to preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and meetings with tax authorities.
  • Assist clients in responding to department inquiries, investigations, and audits.
  • Prepare replies to show-cause notices and audit replies.
  • Meet with tax officers for hearings as required.
  • Prepare tax appeals for filing at Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Court (Tribunal, High Court/Supreme Court).
  • Assist seniors in representation before judicial forums.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on various topics.

Client Service Delivery/Execution:

  • Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while considering firm risk issues.
  • Execute work on a multiple-client base, assuming near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Develop rapport with middle layers of client management.

Developing Commercial Acumen:

  • Stay abreast of firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends.
  • Apply knowledge to deliver solutions to clients and bring value to them and their managers.

Networking & Identification of Opportunities:

  • Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate with seniors.
  • Network internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues impacting clients.

Developing Strong Knowledge Base:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in tax and other laws.
  • Contribute to knowledge management activities of the firm.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent Communication and Drafting Skills.
  • Strong Analytical and Researching Skills.
  • Proactive, Reliable, and Attentive to Details.

Experience and Education:

  • Law Graduate from a known Law School with a strong academic track record.
  • 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax would be preferred (i.e., GST, Customs, etc.).
