Financial Systems Architect

The mission of the Platform Product Group engineers is to design and build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform that operates efficiently and effectively. Our teams develop and maintain the platforms critical to our organization's success.

The FinHub team focuses on creating a platform for financial data, providing accurate and timely information essential for decision-making. This platform and associated tooling will improve the process for accounting and finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a platform for financial data.
  • Provide technical guidance to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using your technical expertise.
  • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
  • Hands-on with coding.
  • Plan and implement the multi-year strategy for Finhub engineering with the technical leadership on your team.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
  • Engage with upstream teams and enforce SLAs for data availability and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in architecting big data systems around technologies like Apache Spark and Hive.
  • Experience in upleveling junior engineers via processes and setting a high bar for them to follow.
  • You know what high-quality code — and software engineering processes — look like and know how to foster an environment that creates them.
  • Passionate about building an open financial system that brings value to users.
  • Experience working with financial data, including NetSuite APIs.
  • Experience developing financial tools, such as reconciliation, ledgers, and balance matching.
  • Transformed business/product data to accounting/financial domain.
  • Integrated banking partners or have knowledge of bank statements (API based, file based, SWIFT).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Golang, gRPC, Docker, SnowFlake, Databricks, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience working with finance and accounting teams.
  • Experience in performance tuning of big data systems.
  • Experience working with fintech domain.
