Contracts Negotiator Opportunity

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced contracts negotiator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract negotiation, commercial law, and communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for various commercial contracts, including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements, utilizing internal guidelines and the legal contracts playbook.
  • Solve contract-related problems with other parties and internally, developing creative solutions and drafting alternative terms as needed.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams on conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of legal administrative processes and legal documents.
  • Partner with internal teams to drive process improvements and ensure excellent customer experience.

Requirements:

  • University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with directly customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification required.
  • Familiarity with media organizations desirable.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and apply legal, financial, and business principles to contracting.
  • Adept use of digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
