Job Title: Sr. Instrumentation Specialist

As a senior instrumentation engineer, you will be responsible for creating technical design deliverables that meet the highest standards in the industry.

  • Design Basis and Control System Specifications: Develop comprehensive documents outlining the design principles and control system specifications for complex instrumentation projects.
  • Instrument Index and I/O List: Create detailed lists of instruments and input/output connections to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Functional Loop Schematics and Logic Diagrams: Design and develop logical diagrams and functional loop schematics to illustrate the flow of signals and data through the control system.
  • Installation Drawings and Hookups: Produce detailed installation drawings and hookups to ensure efficient and safe installation of instruments and control systems.
  • Cable Tray Layouts and Control Room Layouts: Plan and design cable tray layouts and control room layouts to optimize space and minimize interference.

You will also be involved in inter-disciplinary activities such as:

  • P&ID Review and Update: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and update process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • 3D Model Review: Evaluate 3D models to ensure they accurately represent the instrumentation and control systems.
  • CAPEX Support: Provide expert support for capital expenditures (CAPEX) initiatives to ensure effective implementation and optimization of instrumentation and control systems.

In addition, you will have hands-on experience with design calculations including:

  • Instrument Sizing: Perform calculations to determine the optimal size and capacity of instruments to ensure accurate measurement and control.
  • Control Valve Sizing: Conduct calculations to select the correct control valve sizes and types for precise control and regulation.
  • Flow Meter Sizing: Determine the appropriate flow meter sizes and types to ensure accurate measurement and monitoring of fluid flows.
  • Safety Valve Sizing: Calculate the correct safety valve sizes and types to ensure reliable protection against overpressure and other hazards.

Key responsibilities include selecting all types of field instruments and exposure to selection of instruments and systems for hazardous areas. As a Sr. Instrumentation Specialist, you should have familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to FMCG plants and NEC standards.
