Strategic Merchandise Buyer

The role of a Strategic Merchandise Buyer involves contributing to the development of our Buying and Merchandising strategy, working within it at all times.

  • We seek an experienced buyer to manage all issues related to buying merchandise and coordinating with vendors for designated departments.
  • The ideal candidate will focus on sourcing high-quality and cost-effective products for their respective brands, ensuring timely deliveries meet assigned purchase orders.
  • Collaborating with the merchandising team to ensure delivery schedules are met.
  • Conducting market research to identify future product offerings based on customer demands and technological trends.
  • Developing pricing strategies with marketing and management, aiming to reach optimal agreements with suppliers.
  • Sourcing products that meet customer requirements.
  • Maximizing current sourcing channels and identifying new opportunities.
  • Supporting negotiations with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
  • Working closely with Designers to develop styles and inform best-seller products.
  • Cooperating with Merchandising to manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.
  • Keeping track of competitor activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, color, fabric, etc.
  • Product presentation, packaging, and development, as well as promotional plans.
  • Reviewing and adjusting season plans and weekly plans.
  • Vendor identification and development.
  • Obtaining range merchandise after effective negotiation.
  • Working with Marketing and Design to develop Visual Merchandising promotions in line with theme and product launches.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • Setting standards for quality of merchandise with QA.
  • Reconciling store plans and fixing departmental financial plans.
