The Commercial Data team in Advertising is responsible for developing leading property and market data insights to power Real products. This squad sits in the Real tribe, a leading provider of commercial property and data in Australia.

The Senior Lead Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe, leading the design, development, and optimization of features to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

">
  • Leading or significantly contributing to initiatives with strategic focus and value
  • Solving deep, complex technical problems in ways that enable other team members to learn and extend
  • Supporting the Engineering Manager/Tech Lead in setting the technical direction
  • Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team
  • Supporting and driving continuous improvement of our production systems and being an advocate for the overall health of our systems
  • Working with stakeholders to design high quality solutions that meet the needs of our users, including vendor platforms
  • Writing, testing and documenting code according to REA Engineering standards and practices

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users

Experience with SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines

">

Well-versed in data modeling, experience with data pipelines, data consumption, data analysis, and documentation

Advanced skills in developing long-term system architecture strategies

">

Experience with modern software development techniques (e.g., functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development, and CI/CD)

">

Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders
