Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Development: Create high-performance databases using Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • SQL Proficiency: Develop and execute complex SQL queries for troubleshooting and administrative tasks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle (RMAN) and PostgreSQL (pg_dump, pg_basebackup).
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and enhance database performance using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and pgAdmin.
  • Operating System Knowledge: Familiarity with Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems where Oracle and PostgreSQL are deployed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in database administration and design.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL database architecture, structures, and operations; SQL proficiency; basic backup and recovery knowledge; performance monitoring and tuning; operating system knowledge; attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:
  • Database Tools: Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), pgAdmin, or other database management and monitoring tools.
  • Scripting Knowledge: Basic knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) for automating database tasks.
  • Database Security Practices: Understanding of basic security principles such as user authentication, roles, and permissions.
  • Version Control & Change Management: Experience in working with version-controlled environments and knowledge of change management processes.
