Job Summary

This role supports the Accounting department in generating accurate and timely financial statements by preparing and recording detailed AP, AR, and other general accounting transactions.

Responsibilities

  1. ">
  2. Review and account for AP and corporate expense reports.">
  3. Perform monthly bank reconciliation.">
  4. Help with tax filings.">
  5. Perform month close activities such as accruals, prepays, deferrals, etc.">
  6. Support with revenue recognition & refunds.">
  7. Review monthly Income Statement and provide explanation on the monthly fluctuations for P&L accounts.">
  8. Accounts Payable Processing:">
    1. ">
    2. Review and approve POs and invoices in Nexonia.">
    3. Process weekly check run for vendor payments.">
    4. Initiate wire requests.">
    5. Request and maintain W-9/W-8 information for vendors and record new vendor information into NetSuite.">
    6. Create necessary AP accrual journal entries and monthly dererral entries.">
    7. Coordinate 1099 filings.">

  9. Audit Assistance:">
    1. ">
    2. Prepare AP and other Accounting documents requested for audit.">
    3. Work directly with auditor for any questions.">
    4. Perform walkthrough of Accounting tasks as requested by auditors.">
    ">
  10. Fixed Assets:">
    1. ">
    2. Ensure the accuracy of Fixed Assets additions & retirements.">
    3. Maintain Fixed Assets Module.">
    4. Verify that all assets are depreciated monthly.">
    5. Verify that monthly depreciation journal entries are accurate.">
    6. Create all necessary retirement entries.">

  11. Government & Business Filings:">
    1. ">
    2. Ensure government filings and business renewals are filed on time.">
    3. Maintain Business Filings document.">
    4. Work with tax consultant.">
    ">
  12. Miscellaneous:">
    1. ">
    2. Assist management on special projects as necessary.">
    3. Work with various departments as information is required from accounting department.">
    4. Assists accounting/finance department in ad hoc tasks and/or projects.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.">
  • Knowledge of advanced accounting platforms such as NetSuite.">
  • Knowledge of advanced cloud-based reporting, AR, and AP systems.">
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.">
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing deadlines and responsibilities.">
  • Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask.">
  • Highly organized, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.">
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.">
  • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.">
  • Hands-on experience on month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial audit.">
  • Comfortable working with various internal stakeholders (ie. Human Resources, IT, Operations, Marketing) and external vendors.">
  • Comfortable working in a remote-first work environment.">
