Job Description

The Strategic Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, increasing market share, and achieving all defined commercial objectives within the scope of our overall business strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to deliver revenue, margin, order intake, and key performance indicators (KPIs) within assigned accounts.
  • Map the Deepsea customer's buying journey to identify touchpoints and develop an effective sales approach.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of multiple Deepsea accounts within assigned territories.
  • Pitch for service contracts to consolidate Deepsea customers' service business into our network.
  • Generate proposals, prepare service contract quotations, and demonstrate value propositions to Deepsea customers.
  • Deploy rigorous sales processes, pricing, contracting, and negotiation to accelerate growth across our entire service portfolio.
  • Conduct regular meetings with fleet teams to develop and drive business opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of fleet operations and priorities for each assigned account.
  • Maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with fleet teams, particularly at the head of ship management/purchasing level.
  • Proactively prioritize action for multiple assigned accounts based on strategic match, sales-pursuing probability, compliance, and account risks.
  • Identify disconnects in service and customer expectations before they become issues and work with line managers to correct identified issues.
  • Understand formal and informal decision-making processes within each account and drive regular cadence/governance.
  • Timely resolve customer issues and challenges as the initial escalation point.
  • Monitor account management KPIs on spot service and trade sales revenue.
  • Document, validate, and track leads and opportunities through CRM systems.
  • Closely coordinate with Global Inside Sales and Global Operations in all aspects of opportunities capture and proposal processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 days per month visiting fleet teams face-to-face in a sales capacity.
  • Stay abreast of competition, competitive issues, and technology.
  • Comply strictly with corporate policies and compliance regulations.
  • Prospect via email, LinkedIn, outbound calls, and attend conferences and events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of related working experience with solid connections to shipping companies. Demonstrate successful track records of achieving $1 million+ annual quotas.

  • Preferred candidates should be located in Mumbai due to geographical considerations, as the primary work location is in Mumbai.
