Lead Governance Professional

The Lead Governance Professional plays a pivotal role in driving a culture of corporate governance, risk awareness, and accountability within an organization.

This professional oversees the development, implementation, and management of the annual audit plan aligned with business objectives and risk priorities. They lead audits across financial, operational, compliance, and IT domains to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.

A key responsibility is to oversee risk assessments, process reviews, and control testing to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Timely completion of audits and high-quality reporting to senior leadership and the Audit Committee are also essential.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Lead Governance Professional monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. They provide recommendations to mitigate risks and strengthen control frameworks.

The successful candidate will present audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to executive management and the Audit Committee. Strong working relationships with business units, regulators, and external auditors are crucial.

This leader will also act as a trusted advisor to senior management on internal control and governance matters. Their expertise will help drive the adoption of audit tools, data analytics, and technology-enabled audit methodologies.

To be successful in this role, one must stay updated with industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes. Proactive recommendations for improvements to business processes and internal control systems are highly valued.
