Senior Merchandising Strategist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership position within our merchandising team. As a Senior Merchandising Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and managing buyer relationships, procuring orders, and collaborating with the design team to create compelling collections.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Manage Buyer Accounts: Foster strong relationships with buyers to ensure maximum profit margins and drive business growth.
  2. Procure Orders: Source high-quality products at competitive prices, and negotiate payment terms to optimize cash flow.
  3. Collaborate with Design Team: Provide input on product development, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and brand aesthetics.
  4. Tap Contacts and Current Buyers: Identify new business opportunities and cultivate existing relationships to increase sales revenue.
  5. Stay Up-to-Date with Market Trends: Regularly visit factories and communicate with buyers to stay informed about industry developments.
  6. Maintain Office Informed: Keep stakeholders updated on changing market conditions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  7. Pulse on Buyers' Buying Patterns: Analyze financial conditions, buying habits, and market demand to inform procurement decisions.
  8. Coordinate with Production and Dispatch Teams: Ensure timely delivery of products, aligning production schedules with customer demands.
  9. Industry Best Practices: Stay current with industry developments, attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  10. Effective Communication: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on organization and attention to detail.
Key Interactions:

Internal: Senior Management, Divisional Heads, Plant/Production Team, Sales/Marketing Team, Commercial Team, Finance/Accounts Team.

External: Buyers/Customer.
