Job Overview

NewSpace Research and Technologies is a start-up engaged in developing next-generation missions and technologies for future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces.

We are undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. Our product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high-altitude pseudo-satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical system and power electronics design activities.
  • Define architecture, system, and component-level requirements.
  • Perform analysis (FMECA, simulations, modeling, etc.) on new architectures/products.
  • Ensure design and development meets certification standards & requirements.
  • Conduct designs/documents/test-plan reviews.
  • Establish scope and framework for standardization of integration processes and common tools identification.
  • Prepare associated documentation for company records and design reviews.

Necessary Skills:

  • Strong hold on power supply design, power converters, analog & digital control, MOSFETs/GaNs, gate driver circuitry, transformer/inductor design, etc.
  • Experienced in multiple product development stages - circuit design, simulations & analysis, manufacturing, and validation.
  • Experienced in modeling & simulation tools such as Spice, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, and PCB Design tools like Eagle/OrCad/Altium.
  • Familiar with Solar arrays/MPPT/Battery/BMS/Wiring Harness topics.

Bonus Requirements:

  • Experienced in component level & system level certification and standards.
  • Experienced in Aerospace/Automotive domains.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical/Power Electronics/Equivalent fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
