Senior Physical Design Lead Job

Experienced Senior Physical Design Leads are sought to excel in the development of innovative circuit designs. Expertise in mainstream P&R tools and a bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, electrical, telecom, or VLSI engineering is necessary.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in solving customer problems for critical designs, achieving desired performance, area, and power targets. They will be responsible for developing flow and methodology for placement, CTS, and routing, as well as providing training and technical support to customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing circuits on 10nm/7nm/5nm or lower nodes for deployment with various customers.
  • Expertise in solving customers problems for critical designs to achieve desired performance, area, and power targets.
  • Developing flow and methodology for doing placement, CTS, and routing.
  • Providing training and technical support to customers.

Required technical and professional expertise includes:

  • Solid experience in place & route flow (placement guidelines, clock-tree synthesis, routing, timing optimizations). Hierarchical designs and/or low power implementation are advantageous.
  • Experience in synthesis, interfacing with RTL and implementation designers to achieve better quality of results.
  • Experience in floor plan design, including placement of hard macros, padring, power grid, and custom analog routes.
  • Experience in static timing analysis related activities (constraints development, parasitic extractions, sign-off requirements).
  • Knowledge of physical verification (DRC/LVS/DFM, chip finishing).

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in physical design using mainstream P&R tools.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, electrical, telecom, or VLSI engineering.
